This issue once again presents a series of research articles that comprehensively explore various innovations and practical solutions in the fields of systems engineering, information technology, and applied electronics. The main focus of this publication highlights how the integration of smart technology can be implemented to address real-world challenges in society and industry. Readers will be presented with the latest studies, ranging from the utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT) in home security systems with RFID authentication and ESP32-CAM image notification, the implementation of hybrid LoRa-WiFi communication for water level monitoring, to the design and development of an Arduino-based two-zone automatic fire detector and extinguisher. In addition to developments in the hardware and automation sectors, this issue also enriches insights through software innovations and advanced data analysis. There is an in-depth study on the design of a mobile-based e-recruitment application to optimize corporate data management, as well as a comparison of various machine learning algorithms in predicting job salaries based on age, experience, and education. Furthermore, this publication also presents research highly relevant to the local regional context, namely the application of multicriteria spatial analysis using the weighted overlay method to map disaster risk zoning in Bandar Lampung City.

Complementing this subsurface analysis, another research utilizes geoelectrical methods to characterize underground conditions, aiming to support and optimize regional infrastructure planning. In the realm of urban and transportation engineering, this issue features an evaluation of public open spaces as a strategic instrument for disaster mitigation in urban areas. Additionally, a comprehensive transportation study investigates railway passenger preferences, specifically analyzing their ability to pay and willingness to pay for regional train services. Furthermore, the journal highlights advancements in material engineering and information technology. A material science study examines the effects of varying glycerol and iota carrageenan ratios on the physical and chemical properties of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC)-based capsule shells. Finally, an information technology research evaluates usability and user interface design to enhance user experience on a national academic platform, utilizing a heuristic evaluation approach and the Lean UX method based on ISO 13407 standards.

The articles presented include a study on the digitalization of the SIM KIP Kuliah website at LLDIKTI II using the Laravel framework and Kanban method, and a comprehensive evaluation of CNN model performance for dogfruit plant classification.
